Nancy and Place Stanislas
Listed by UNESCO, Nancy’s Place Stanislas is one of Europe’s finest classical ensembles. Its gilded gates by Jean Lamour, its Neptune and Amphitrite fountains and its Town Hall form a theatrical backdrop. Each summer, the Rendez-vous place Stanislas sound and light show turns the façades into living canvases. An ideal setting for a first dinner together at a corner brasserie.
Metz and the Pays messin
Yellow Jaumont stone, a cathedral with Chagall windows, the Centre Pompidou-Metz: the Moselle prefecture charms with elegance and modernity. Around it, the Pays messin reveals its PDO vineyards, abbeys and markets. The Mirabelle festival each late summer offers a joyful break where the little golden plum appears in tarts, eaux-de-vie and shared smiles.
Verdun, Épinal and the Vosges
To the west, Verdun and its memorials recall the Great War in a moving yet peaceful setting. In Épinal, historic lanes and the Image Museum tell the golden age of popular prints. Finally, the Vosges massif awaits hikers, skiers and lake lovers such as Gérardmer. On Lyad, Lorraine members share their favourites; it is up to you to discover one together.
